Andy Goldsworthy

the work of Andy Goldsworthy is absolutely amazing. he captures the natural movement and life of nature in his work. he is inspired by his surroundings and makes art out of it as well. he has so much patients and puts a great amount of time and effort into each piece. he spends hours making beautiful sculptures out of the things he finds around him. then he photographs it and his pictures are simple yet filled with extraordinary detail. in each piece he tries to understand the nature around him. each time he builds something and runs into a problem he feels he understands the material he is working with even more. and each time he rebuilds it gets a little higher. he makes each piece as a gift to nature.

Photo Montage 2

this montage is also made up of pictures i took myself. i used 3 pictures total. the background is a pictures of mountains in south Dakota. then i put a picture of my feet so it looks like someone is laying down looking at the mountains. the third picture is one that i took of the sky in my back yard. i think it all fits together nicely and uses the rule of thirds.

Photo Montage 1

i used 6 pictures total in this montage. the back ground was the first layer and i didn't do much to change it. the second layer is the clouds and i made those on photo shop. then i used filters and color effects to make them fit the color scheme and i added a glow to make it blend in more. each hand is its own layer and i used a diffused glow effect on each one and added a glow to make it more ghostly. the only problem i have with this picture is it uses the bulls eye effect because she is right in the middle. maybe it would look better if she was a little off center. i wanted her to be the center of attention, what the hands are reaching for, she is like a goal or a destination so i thought it made sense to put her in the middle. everything is proportionate and balanced, there is more going on at the bottom of the picture but the hands reach up so that draws your eyes up and twards the top of the picture. the hands lead to the focal point.
